At the end of the sixties Grato Grati replanted the vineyards of Grati Family in respect of tradition, grafting the buds of the mother plants of the farm’s vineyards onto the rootstocks. An ancient practice that preserves the viticultural heritage of a territory.<\/p>\n
In 2002 an agreement was made with the University of Florence to develop a project, led by the ampelographer Roberto Bandinelli, for the “Recovery, conservation and enhancement of viticultural Germplasm in the Chianti Rufina area” After 10 years of research in over 30 small farms in the area, over 400 vines and about 80 varieties were found.<\/p>\n
The first result was the establishment of a collection field of the vines found, the Vitiarium.<\/p>\n
